In December 2010, the Library hired Melissa (Missy) H. Deters as its Executive Director. As the Foundation’s first staff member, she handles all administrative and fundraising duties including the Annual Fund and Endowment. Missy brings more than 25 years of fundraising experience to her new position. She also served on the Library Foundation Board and was actively involved in the fundraising and event planning for the Library’s successful 2009 and 2013 levy campaigns. Recently Missy was chosen by the Ohio Board of Education to be a member of the State Library Board, which oversees the State Library of Ohio and library services throughout the state. Missy and her family are lifelong Cincinnati residents, and have always found the Library to be an incredible resource for their family.
“The Library is such an integral and important part of our community,” Missy comments. “I’m honored to serve as the Foundation’s Executive Director, and I look forward to ensuring a bright future for our Library system and the customers who depend on it.”
Listen to Missy Deters talk about the importance of libraries and how the Foundation helps the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County and our community.
